Dictator of Italy Benito Mussolini came to power in Italy in 1922. Mussolini agrees to using a form of rule called fascism- based on militarism, radical nationalism, and blind loyalty- to take power. Benito did not rise to power with only the help of his supporters. When asked how exactly he came to power, he claims that Americans did one heck of a job. The U.S. Depression spread worldwide and when Mussolini saw that the Italians were living in poverty and basically needed someone to believe in. him and a few others stepped up to make their country successful. Out of all, the people chose Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini. Benito promised Italians economic prosperity and military prestige. He pursued these goals through territorial expansion in Africa.
However, the people weren't ready for such harsh and strict rules Mussolini would enforce. Mussolini said he had certain policies. For one, he controlled the press and banned criticism of government |
