Adolf Hitler (April 20, 1889-April 30, 1945)
Interview with Adolf Hitler: In June 30, 1942 Hitler agreed to be interviewed in order to discuss his views and try to help us understand what is going on with the war.
Adolf Hitler was born April 20, 1889 in Austria. Growing up, Hitler had three other siblings. Two of them died because of disease and one died shortly after birth. Fortunately, two other siblings were born. Hitler’s mother was nothing but affectionate towards her children. Adolf Hitler originally wanted to become a priest but he later realized that he had a talent for drawing. However, Hitler dropped out of school at the age of 16 because he had lung complications and it was holding him back from concentrating in school. Hitler’s father died in 1903 because he was suffering from pleural hemorrhage. His mother was later diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and was treated by a Jewish doctor, Dr. Edward Bloch. She then died in 1907. Hitler was unfortunately an orphan and was living in a shelter for the homeless that were financed by a Jewish philanthropist . He grew up in an anti-Semitist environment. He was later drafted in World War I and fought bravely.

I asked Hitler what were some of his goals as a fascist government and what is his definition of fascism. He said that some of his goals as a fascist government were to make Germans realize that they are the top race and they need to eliminate the Jewish race. He also said that his goal is to improve the economy and start invading countries for world domination. His definition of fascism was to believe that they are the superior country/ race. I asked Hitler, who was the founder of fascism, what country were they from, and what did he emphasize. He said “Benito Mussolini created fascism, he is from Italy. He emphasized extreme nationalism and to believe in one form of government.”
Hitler was representing the National Socialist party. He said that this party was expressed by his belief of anti-Semitism and his strong faith in the German race. I asked Hitler how National Socialism and Fascism affected the war. He said that these two beliefs sparked the war. He said that this made him believe that Germany needs to rise back in power and stop getting taken advantage of by the rest of the world. He also said that Germany was depicted as the scape goat for World War I and they suffered the consequences. They had to prove that they were a force to be reckoned with.
I asked Hitler who was the bottom race. He said that the Jewish people were mostly at the bottom but mainly anyone who was not in the Aryan race is considered an inferior race. For my final question, I asked what do the terms Nazism, Propaganda, and Totalitarianism mean and how are they related to your fascist ideas. In response, he said that Nazism is based around the idea of anti-Semitism. He said that propaganda was used to gain supporters for Nazism. Totalitarianism enforces that if anyone doesn’t follow the leaders’ belief, they will be punished or executed. This all is related to his fascist ideas. ~Cynthia Paz
